Here's a short, funny story for learning vocabulary. As a student of English, you should read this story at least three times. Difficult words are explained in bracket like this (...).
Let's start VOCAB STORY
( Beauty of English )
Once many POLYGLOT(someone who knows and uses many languages) and ERUDITE(very scholarly) speakers were participating in a conference on English language. They were debating over someINTRICATE and RECONDITE(both mean complex and difficult) matters. Most of it wereESOTERIC(known to very few) for other listeners.
Someone asked the distinction between 'complete' and 'finish'. Those SAGACIOUS (wise) scholars gave many PROFOUND(requiring deep thoughts and knowledge) examples but they couldn't please the audience. Then it was announced that the best answer would be rewarded with 1 million $.
Here is one million $ answer.
" If you marry the right woman, you are complete but if you marry the wrong one you are finished. Further, if the right one ever catches you with the wrong one then you are completely finished.
Study diligently to complete your life or it may be finished.
